Ingredients for 0

  • 3 cups 80 proof vodka

  • 6 vanilla beans

Directions

  • Step 1

    Split each bean lengthwise and scrap seeds into vodka.

  • Step 2

    Cut remaining split beans into two pieces

  • Step 3

    Place vodka mixture into 3 sterilized pinto jars. Do not fill jars above bottom screw ring.

  • Step 4

    Place sterilized lids and rings on jars. Tighten rings only to finger tightness, if it is over-tightened. The jar will break.

  • Step 5

    Place jars in sous vide at 140° for no more than 8 hours.

      Remove jars from sous vide and cool. Shake jars once or twice per day for 3 weeks.

    • Step 1

      Put vanilla into clean decorative jars. I include beans and seeds. Label and it is ready to use.
