Boneless Beef New York Strip Steak
Kosher salt
Ground black pepper
Garlic powder
Fresh thyme
Butter
Directions

Step 1
Set your Anova Sous Vide Precision Cooker to 129.0ºF / 53.9ºC.

Step 2
Generously season steak on both sides with Kosher salt, ground black pepper, and garlic powder.

Place well seasoned steak into vacuum bag. Place fresh thyme on both sides of the steak and seal the bag.

Place bag into water bath and set timer for 1 hour.

Finishing Steps

Heat pan to medium high.

Step 1
Remove bag from water bath and open. Remove the steak from bag and place on a cutting board.

Pat down the steak with a paper towel.

Step 3
Place steak in hot pan for 1-2 minutes depending on steaks thickness. Flip to sear the opposite side.

Step 4
Place butter in the pan and put thyme from the vacuum bag on top of the steak. Baste steak with melted butter.

Step 5
Remove steak from pan and place on cutting board. Let rest for no less than 5 minutes, preferably 10. After proper rest time, slice the steak and plate.
