Father’s Day Filets
Good filet of beef is a special occasion meal for holidays like Father’s Day in our house. Basting the meat in butter and herbs as it sears is a great infusion of flavor.

Ingredients
- 1.5 oz filet of beef
- Salt
- Pepper
- 1/4 Cup of Vegetable Oil
- 1 Tablespoon of Butter
- 1 Tablespoon of Dried Rosemary
- 1 Teaspoon of Garlic
Directions
- Set your Anova Sous Vide Precision Cooker to 134.0ºF / 56.7ºC.
- Salt and pepper filet(s) generously and then insert into ziplock bag; no more than two filets per bag. Pour in 1/4 cup of oil into the bag. Press air out of bag and seal.
- Insert bags into heated water and clip to side of pot. Open bag to let any additional air out and reseal. Cook for two hours.
- Once cooking time passes, remove meat and let sit for ten minutes.
Stovetop
- Heat cast iron skillet to high heat. Add butter (one tablespoon per filet), herbs (rosemary preferred but choice of cook will do), and garlic.
- Immediately add filet(s) and sear for sixty to ninety seconds per side.
- While searing spoon over melted butter and seasoning on filet. Repeat once filet flipped.
- Let sit on cutting board and then slice in strips to serve or serve whole.
