Ingredients
- Pork shoulder, 4 lbs cut into 6 steaks
- 1/3 cup granulated sugar
- 3 teaspoons salt
- 1 teaspoon five spice powder
- 1 teaspoon white pepper
- 2 tablespoons soy sauce
- 2 tablespoons hoisin sauce
- 3 tablespoons honey
- 5 cloves of garlic minced
Directions
- Prepare pork shoulder. Cut into steaks about 1.5 inches wide.
- Prepare marinade by combining all remaining ingredients. Mix well and set aside 4 tablespoons and store in the fridge- this will be used to baste the pork when finishing.
- Put the steaks in plastic bags or a dish with the marinade. Mix well and refrigerate overnight.
- Prepare sous vide cooker, heating to 140F. Seal steaks properly and put in the water. Cook for 8 hours.
Finishing Steps
- When finished cooking, remove steaks and arrange on a baking tray. Brush with the saved marinade and add additional housin sauce if desired.
- Heat oven to brook and broil pork until crisp and bubbly, about 7-10 minutes.
- Serve with soy sauce, hoisin sauce, and roasted sesame seeds for dipping. Enjoy!
