Quick and easy Char Siu (Chinese BBQ pork) for those that don't have the time to work out a traditional recipe.

  1. Cut pork into strips, approximately 1-2 inches think. Place in bag with ready made sauce, I used Lee Kum Kee. Use enough dive to cover meat liberally.
  2. Place in the water bath for 12 hours once temperature has been reached.
  3. Once finished, drain the bags of the fluid. You can keep this fluid as a marinade in the future. Let meat dry in the fridge.

Finishing Steps

  1. Line a baking tray with baking paper. Lay it the meat and coat with remaining char siu sauce. Sauce is quite thick so heating the jar in the microwave for 20 seconds will help. Place in pre-heated oven at 200°C until sauce has caramelised. About 5-10 minutes on each side.
  2. Slice it up.
  3. Serve with steamed greens (Bok Choy).
